March morning
smell of baking pancakes
a newish reality

Shrove Tuesday -
one odor of pancakes
changes another

fat Tuesday!
from every kitchen
a pancake ’s aroma

the kitchen table's
sharing my pancake with
the March sun

Shrove morning
I  share the pancake
with my cat
